Barbara MacLennan is an experienced facilitator of cross-sector, collaborative change. 

A firm believer in a locally-led, sustainable approach, her expertise in social and community development, policy and research has seen her contribute to vital community-led initiatives and development practice.

She has held senior management roles in central and local government, as well as the community and business sectors and was a driving force in establishing Inspiring Communities - a national organisation that supports community-led development around complex issues. 

She has also worked as a strategic broker for Collaboration Bay of Plenty, a regional network of local government chief executives and central government regional managers, focused on collaborative practice; funding, project and advisory work. She is also highly experienced in training, project management and mentoring, focusing on practical collaboration around complex local issues.

Barbara holds an MA in social policy and has lived and worked in many places around Aotearoa, although she is always drawn back to the bountiful Bay Of Plenty, which has been her chosen part of the planet for over three decades.
